If you drive on muddy roads or live on a dirt road you should consider getting an occasional undercarriage treatment at the local car wash. This will remove the caked dirt from under you car and enable you to remove the moisture that this dirt accumulates.

Driving in snow and sleet can add to the problems of acid rain as road salt does not like having to deal with your car. Stone chips on your car can also cause serious problems. If you do not fix them by applying paint, you can cause them to corrode and ruin the body of your car. Also, you can fix deep scratches on your car in a very similar manor. Just apply the paint to the area where the scratch is and everything should blend in very well with the car.

If you follow all of these helpful tips you should have a car that will look nice on the road and sitting at home for many years to come. Although these tips may seem stupid and moronic to many, it actually does help to keep your car looking nice. Imagine if you wanted to trade in your car one day and the dealer declined it due to rust issues you could have fixed for a nominal cost yourself. You probably will be so irritated with yourself that you didn't pay the cost then.

Frequent car washing is one of the best things you can do for your car. Best of all, you can do it at home for nothing more than your time and the cost of the water coming out of the hose. Then again, you can also take your car to the local car wash and get it fully washed, waxed, and undercarriage cleaned for around $8-$10 depending on your location in the U.S. After all, doing some preventative maintenance on your car will let you keep driving a vehicle that looks and runs great for many years to come!
